Our school community is known for fostering a fun and inclusive environment (and maybe a little for our genuine love of corndogs). All USD 470 students can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day. Families are also encouraged to complete the Home Economic Survey, which helps the district qualify for funding and plan for student and family needs.

Arkansas City Public Schools has developed new screen time guidelines to help staff use technology with purpose and create more balance in the school day. The guidelines support teacher judgment while encouraging a healthy mix of technology, reading, writing, discussion, collaboration, movement, and hands-on learning.

Ark City voters will decide the future of local schools on Nov. 4, 2025. Two proposed bond measures would improve safety, modernize learning spaces, and expand early childhood education across USD 470. State aid is expected to cover 30% of the principal and interest costs. Proposition 1 includes Arkansas City Middle School additions and districtwide upgrades.
