It is my goal as your child’s library teacher to promote life-long reading and learning both for pleasure and information.
Once a week students will visit the library to check out books. Students will also learn library procedures, including care of materials, properly checking in and out books, returning books in a timely manner and being actively engaged in literature-based activities. Students will demonstrate proper care and use of technology, including Chromebooks, and use of digital resources. Libraries are a busy place!
At IXL and Jefferson Schools, we believe you must read to succeed. All children need to read or be read to daily! If your child can read, listen to him or her read the book and help with the words they may not know. Spend time talking about the book they are reading or spend time reading the book together. We want your student to love reading, so please make this time you share books together fun and without distractions.
